GHE Parent Teacher Association

The GHE Parent Teacher Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) made up of committed parents, guardians and teachers. Our mission is to bring families, the school, and the community together to positively impact the lives of everyone at GHE. The PTA provides events, activities and special programs that make this an outstanding school. We also raise funds to help meet school needs that are outside the scope of the school's budget—everything from grade-specific enrichment resources to updating technology and community programs.

WHY DOES THE PTA NEED TO FUNDRAISE?

County and Statewide budget cuts continue to reduce what our schools can provide to students.  Supplies, technology, facility upgrades and enrichment activities are no longer supported entirely by government funds. To keep our children’s educational opportunities at the level that they deserve, GHE PTA steps in to raise money to fill the gaps left by budget cuts.

WHAT DOES THE PTA PAY FOR?

The PTA funds major projects like the playground sunshades, smart boards and projectors in every classroom, updates to the grounds and our newest project: the Falcon's Nest outdoor learning environment. The PTA also works to support teachers in all aspects of their jobs. We know that the key to retaining quality faculty and staff is to make them feel respected and valued. Academic grants, classroom supplies, and teacher appreciation events all help show our staff that we recognize and appreciate their tireless work for our children. Take a look at our flyer showing all of the places our donations and volunteer time are spent.

WHAT ABOUT FUN THINGS?

We think that kids should have a GREAT time at school! Scoop and a Show, Donuts with Grownups, Family Game Night, Field Day, Spring Carnival and more give GHE families a chance to connect, have fun and build school community. Teachers often attend and volunteer and the students love seeing their teachers having fun, too!

BUT SCHOOL IS FOR LEARNING!

We’ve got that covered, too!  In addition to all the support we provide the teachers for their individual classrooms, the PTA funds grade-level and school-wide academic grants and events like STEAM Night, Spelling Bee, Falcon Book Battle and Freddie's Featured Fiction. We also fund investments in books, learning materials, and character education.

WE BELIEVE IN DOING GOOD.

We want to teach our children to take care of those around them. That’s why you’ll see efforts to support GHE families in need throughout the year. We have our Book Fairy program as part of our Book Fair each year. In December we sponsor the Helping Families Holiday Gift Drive for Green Hope Elementary students in need.
