Falcon Flyer: Turkey Trot Starts NOW


Are you following us on Twitter and Facebook? You should be! We will be posting continuous coverage and hilarious moments during the Turkey Trot fundraiser. You don't want to miss any of this!
There will be teachers performing the Gobble, Gobble, Turkey Wobble dance, teacher sliming and lots of laughs! 
Green Hope's first annual Turkey Trot fundraiser starts TODAY. This race is our biggest fundraiser and supports school improvements and educational programs. 100% of proceeds go back to the school.



Have you heard about our Turkey Trot fundraiser yet? It's a non-competitive fun run that promotes community, builds school spirit, and gets students excited about helping give back to their school. This year we are raising funds to enhance student curriculum and modernize the school. We are grateful to be able to give so much for our students because of the generous donations of all sizes from GHE friends and families!   

Here's What to Do

Parents & Guardians: Please personalize your child's fundraising page and share with family and friends! Need help? Check out our instructions.

1) PERSONALIZE. Follow the steps on the back to setup your child’s own fundraising page.
2) DONATE. Donate and then share the link from your child’s page with family and friends.
3) VOLUNTEER. Go to to help make fun run a success!

Let the Games Begin!


The GHE Student Council is sponsoring a food drive to help families in need. Please bring in nonperishable food items between Monday November 12 and Friday November 15. There will be a collection box in the front lobby or at the Turkey Trot fun run on November 15. Want to learn more about the Student Council? Check out our October 28 newsletter to learn more about what this amazing group of 4th and 5th graders are accomplishing this year.



Students have spent the last two months working with Mrs. Driggers to create AMAZING masterpieces that will be turned into professionally made products. A flyer came home in your child's backpack. There are more than 60 products available for purchase from t-shirts and tote bags to coffee mugs and keychains. These make GREAT holiday gifts for friends and family! Learn more.

Squawks & Community Flocks

We are so excited to have had such wonderful submissions for this year's PTA Art Reflections program. This year's theme was Look Within. Thank you to everyone who participated -- your creativity is amazing. Thank you to Mrs. Driggers and Ushma Thiagarajan for heading up the committee. Congratulations to the 8 students whose artwork (below) will be on display in the Media Center Nov. 4-8 and who will be advancing to the Wake County stage.

5th Grade T-Shirts are now available for pre-order. Orders must be placed by Nov. 17 and will not be available for purchase after this deadline.
If you are the parent/guardian of a 5th grade student, buy one of these special keepsake t-shirts today! (Note: This link will only work for parents/guardians with an active 5th grader on their account. Please make sure your family information is up-to-date.) 

Chess Club Winter Session starts Wednesday, Nov. 6. This is an after school chess team at GHE run by Triangle Chess. Registration is now open for the winter session. Students learn chess fundamentals and strategies that enhance learning skills and critical thinking. New and experienced players are welcome. Please contact for more information.


Is your 4th or 5th grader an aspiring artist? The 2019-2020 Yearbook Cover Contest has kicked off. Read up on the guidelines and start creating! One winner will be selected for the front cover and one winner will be selected for the back cover. Each winner will get a FREE yearbook! All entries are due to Mrs. Driggers by Nov. 26.


The temperature has cooled down and sweatshirt season is here! Green Hope Hoodies are in stock and for sale online. T-shirts and hats are also available for purchase on the PTA website, but we have limited amounts so order today!

Fridays are Falcon Unity Day! Wear your spirit wear or school colors every Friday. One random Friday a month the class with most spirit will win a surprise. 


Between now and Nov. 22 GHE is challenged to read 2,020 books as a school. Individual students who read 20 minutes a day outside of school are rewarded with free Hurricanes tickets! Log in your minutes here. You will need your child's Student ID number to sign up.
