This is for K-5th math standards. Please contact the school front office with any questions regarding this program.

Deadline for Reflection is Oct. 31

Does your child enjoy art, music and dance, or have an interest in writing, producing films or taking photos? Then have them join us and have fun unleashing their inner artist with the PTA Reflections Art Program! This year's theme, "Look Within," calls for their own unique interpretation through the arts.

For more details and guidelines please visit the Wake County and North Carolina PTA websites. Please make sure you follow all the rules and presentation guidelines to avoid disqualification.

Squawks & Community Flocks

We raised over $500 at our first Chick Fil A Spirit Night. Thanks to all of our wonderful families for coming out and supporting our Spirit Night. The children had a blast spinning the wheel and seeing their school friends for dinner. Thank you to Michele Draghici and Kim Rost for running this fun event.

Over 100 families showed up last week for International Walk & Ride to School Day! Thank you to Coach G, Principal Walker and Asst. Principal Lombardo for heading up this special event. We even has some community leaders help walk with us -- Mayor Harold Weinbrecht and Senator Wiley Nichol.

School Improvement Plan Representatives Needed

North Carolina schools are required by law to submit a School Improvement Plan (SIP) to the local board of education for review and approval. As part of this law, school staff and parent representatives shall constitute a school improvement team and the team shall be elected by their respective groups by secret ballot. We are requesting nominations for parent representatives. Eligible parents shall NOT be members of the building-level staff and must be able to attend monthly 8AM meetings at the school. If you are interested in serving as a parent representative on the school improvement team, please email by Friday, October 11. Nominations will be voted on by the PTA membership and the top 2 vote-receiving parents will serve on the team.

Board Advisory Committee Representative Needed

The Board Advisory Committee meets about 5x all year at different schools in the area. It functions as a means for communication directly from the Board of Ed to parents and school based admin.  It meets on Monday nights. After the meeting, we ask that you submit typed notes on the meeting. If you are interested, please email by Friday, October 11.

2019-20 GHE Yearbooks are on sale

With TreeRing yearbooks, every parent (and student) gets two free, uniquely printed pages, so you can fill their yearbook with photos and memories of your child.

GHE Spirit Wear

Backordered Spirit Wear has been delivered. If you ordered spirit wear that has not arrived, please contact us. There is still spirit wear available for purchase on the PTA website, but we have limited amounts so order today!

Fridays are Falcon Friday! Wear your spirit wear or school colors every Friday. One random Friday a month the class with most spirit will win a surprise.
