Your new 2019-2020 PTA Board members were at Meet the Teacher yesterday. It’s great to see so many returning families and new faces.
We are so lucky that Green Hope Elementary has exceptional teachers and a caring staff. We also have extraordinary families. We love all the fresh energy of a new school year and encourage all parents to get involved in some way. Our goal is 100% family and staff PTA membership. As a member of the PTA, you can help influence the direction of our school by working with the principal, teachers and other families. The number one reason to join the PTA is to benefit your child. Together, we can build the school of our dreams for our children.
With so many new families this year, we are focusing on adding new members and engaging our community in new ways. We would like to bring back Math & Science Night, and start a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) club, but we rely heavily on both your time and monetary donations. Your donations bridge the gap between public funding and our school’s needs. Please join the PTA and donate when completing your back to school purchases. Please remember...no gift is too small.
Thank you to outgoing PTA president Heather Swift and treasurer Kristin Moore for their tireless support and dedication to GHE over the years.
We look forward to an exciting year and getting to know you better.
Sincerely, the 2019-2020 GHE PTA Executive Board

Volunteering at Green Hope
Calling all 1st - 5th grade parents!
We need a few volunteers to help the newest members of our GHE family go through the lunch line. Expect 30 minutes of complete cuteness as these munchkins learn how to hold a tray, scoop their fruits and veggies, and use their student cards to pay for their meal. Please sign-up now for a shift or two!
- DATES: Sept. 3-20 from 10:50-11:30am
- DUTIES: Greet students at classroom, walk with them to lunch, help move through lunch line, assist with helping open food and bid them good bye
Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents and become more involved in the Green Hope community! Children do better in school when they see their parents involved in the school. There are opportunities to fit every schedule and every little bit of help creates a positive impact on the educational experience of your child.
PTA in Action
Falcon families have been flocking together this August to get ready for back to school. Together, with your donations and time, we are connecting and flourishing. The PTA has specific committees that you can join, based on your talents and interests.
Teacher's Lounge Renovation
The Hospitality Committee updated the teacher's lounge, called "the Hub." The team, headed by 3rd grade parent Carianne Davis, reupholstered the chairs and window treatments, added new artwork, bought new bins and stocked up on coffee pods, snacks and drinks.
The Hospitality's role is to make our teachers feel appreciated. All provided by donations from YOU. Thank you Carianne Davis, Amy Bates and Ragini Hari for your hard work this summer.
Our School Beautification Committee, led by PTA veteran Patty Barry (parent of PJ and Jayden-2nd grade, pictured above) and PTA newcomer Tanya Hertel (welcome to the family!), maintains our school grounds. The team planted new flowers, refreshed the flower beds, trimmed hedges and laid new gravel on pathways this past August.
The Committee also re-painted the benches and flowers outside our entrance. Funds to maintain our school's beautiful exterior come directly from PTA donations.
Last Sunday morning, Green Hope families met outside the school to weed and garden in preparation for the new school year. They also repainted the school's benches. The PTA maintains the grounds/planters outside the school year round and is excited to announce a new Gardening Club to bring students and parents together in nature to make our school a more beautiful place to grow and learn at.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered!
